Johan was appointed as a Partner at Werksmans Attorneys in 2002, and joined Webber Wentzel Bowens as a Director in 2006. In 2007 he joined the Stonehage Group as Chief Operating Officer (South Africa) and Executive Director and fulfilled this position until July 2014. Johan founded Cantilever in August 2014.
CARMEN DE CHALAIN
DIRECTOR AND BOARD MEMBER – B.COM INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT DEGREE (US)
After completing her studies, Carmen began working for Curo Fund Services in Cape Town, as a senior fund accountant in the NAV department. Later she joined Stonehage Financial Services in Johannesburg, as an associate in the Family Office division. Carmen joined Cantilever in August 2014 and is currently a candidate in the CFA® programme.
LOUW VAN WYK
Louw is a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in the United Kingdom and a Fellow of the Actuarial Society of South Africa. He was an Executive Director of the Absa Group until 1997. Subsequent to his retirement from Absa, he held the positions of non-executive Chairman of GenRe and of the Stonehage Group.
Lance obtained his B. Com (Acc), B.Com(Hons) and H.Dip Tax from the University of Johannesburg and completed his articles at Price Waterhouse Coopers and qualified as a Chartered Accountant. In 2000 he founded Mackridge and Associates Inc., an auditing practice that provides auditing, accounting and taxation services.

After completing her law articles Terri was admitted as a South African Attorney in 2018. She joined Cantilever Family in February 2021 and specialises in Trusts and Estate Planning.
B. COM. INVESTMENT MANAGEMENT
Kyle completed his BCom Investment Management in 2018 and is currently a CFA Level 2 Candidate. After completing his studies, Kyle began his career at Old Mutual before joining Iza Wealth in 2019 as a wealth manager. Kyle joined Cantilever in February 2022, and is part of the Family Office team.
B. COM FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT, PGDBA, TAX SHORT COURSE (UCT)
Alexandra joined a boutique corporate finance firm after graduating from her B.Com degree.She worked on transactions focusing on merger and acquisitions, financial modelling and structuring, debt and equity raising. Alexandra was also involved in sports management and wealth management for sports and other clients.

After completing her studies, Carla joined the FX Desk in 2021, where she assisted in cross-border and foreign exchange transactions and administration. Carla joined Cantilever Family in November 2022, and forms part of the Family Office Team.

She was employed by Billiton (ex Gencor) and Standard Bank, and held positions in Treasury sales and structuring, as well as IT business analysis and design.
DIRECTOR – B. COM ACCOUNTING DEGREE (NMMU)
Karel joined Stonehage as a portfolio accountant in 2010 and transitioned into a Family Office Accountant position until the end of 2014. Since his departure from Stonehage, he was in private practice. He holds the designation of AGA(SA), an associate member of SAICA.
BACHELOR OF ACCOUNTING SCIENCE (B.COMPT. UNISA)
Farzeenat’s started her career as an accounting clerk at Nexia Levitt Kirson. In 2007 she joined Stonehage Fleming where Farzeenat was part of the core team in setting up the Client Accounting Division, where she was responsible for various family office accounting portfolios until June 2015. She is a member of the South African Institute of Business Accountants (SAIBA).
NADINE VD BERG
B. COM DEGREE (WITS)
Nadine graduated from Wits in 2009 with a B.Com degree in business finance. She previously worked for companies in their finance department and joined Cantilever in October 2019.
MARINDA LOTTERING BOTHA
SNR ACCOUNTANT – B. COM INTERNAL AUDIT (UP); CERT. IN ENTREPRENEURIAL SKILLS (NWU. 2002)
Marinda was appointed as Activo Health’s Finance Officer in 2010 and in 2014 she joined FG Asset Management as Accountant & Compliance Officer. She joined the Cantilever Family in May 2021 as a senior accountant. Marinda is currently completing her Occupational Certified Compliance Officer® programme, level 6, through the Compliance Institute of Southern Africa.
Neo launched her accounting career as an accounts assistant at Activo Health in 2016, and in 2019 she joined Group Finance at Afrocentric Health. She joined the Cantilever Family in Dec 2021. She holds a certificate in Cost and Management Accounting from the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and is currently completing her B. Com in Economics at Unisa.
MARIE JV RENSBURG
Marie joined Stonehage Financial Services as a Personal Assistant in 2011, fulfilling this role until February 2015. Marie joined Cantilever in March 2015 as an Administrator.
Ian began his career with Absa Bank Limited in the foreign exchange department. In 2001, he joined TriAlpha Wealth Management which formed part of the Stonehage Group and in 2007, Ian officially joined Stonehage Fleming as the Head of the Banking & Forex team. In May 2016, Ian founded The FX Desk which specializes in all cross-border and foreign exchange transactions.
Rose matriculated in 1996 and joined Cantilever as a receptionist in July 2019.

Cantilever Family International holds a Global Business Licence from the Financial Services Commission of Mauritius
to provide consultancy services in the fields of global reporting on clients’ offshore assets, corporate governance, and international tax advisory.

Amal was the Executive Director of Mauritius International Trust Company Limited, a Management Company licensed by the Financial Services Commission from 2007 to 2019. Amal is an associate member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) of UK and was the Chairman of STEP Mauritius, the Mauritius branch of STEP from 2015 to 2017. He is also a Member of the Mauritius Institute of Directors. With a career in corporate, tax, trust and estate planning spanning over more than 20 years, he has built an extensive experience in the structuring and administration of global business companies, trusts and funds. He joined Cantilever Family in March 2020 as Director.

Ronel was admitted as a South African attorney and notary in 2012 and remained in practice until 2015. From 2015 she worked in the finance industry as the operations manager to a wealth management firm before joining Cantilever Family in June 2019.
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR – BSc, MBA, ADIT
Wendy has joined Cantilever Family International as Tax Consultant, specializing in international taxation and tax compliance. Wendy has more than 20 years’ experience in the financial services sector of Mauritius and in particular, within the global business industry. Prior to joining Cantilever Family International, she held the position of Head of Business Development of MITCO Group from 2012 to 2020, whereby she spearheaded the expansion of new business and markets in the fields of international structuring, tax and estate planning. She had also spent six years in Australia where she fulfilled senior positions in the sales and marketing roles in the pharmaceutical and biomedical industries. Wendy has recently completed her Advanced Diploma in International Taxation from the UK Chartered Institute of Taxation. She holds a BSc degree in Management Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MBA from the University of Hull, UK.

Elize joined B and S Tax Solutions CC on 1 December 2021. She has vast experience as a tax compliance consultant. She worked for SARS for 2 years, and with BDO 30 years. She is also registered as a tax practitioner with SAIT.
